#100daysofjensmusings- Day 30: Show Up

You find the people in your life that you feel supported by.
You hold those people close to your heart and your soul.
Yes, like a locket that contains all your closest secrets.
Not only do they contribute to you and your life, but you want to contribute to them.
Where does that feeling come from?

You can open all the doors and let love in.
Let the mess in. Be a hot mess in front of them.
They hold you, with their arms and their eyes.
No judgment, simply listening.
You never have to feel as though you have it figured out or you have to know anything.
Just come as you are. All your stories, complaints, and expectations.
Disappointments, love drama, friend drama, work drama.
All of it.

Sit down. Listen. Open up your ears.
When you learn a new language, it's not so important to read the language, but to listen.
Listen with the parts of your ears that you didn't know you had.
You don't even know it's possible. But it is.

Show up and I can't tell you how to do it. Just do it.
It's a paradox of sorts, but trust me, you'll know.
Be willing to share the depths of your soul.
First thoughts. They are the richest.
Don't hold back. Let the rage and the tears flow.

I love what my best friend says:
"You don't need saving. You don't need healed. Because you are not broken."

Do you hear it? That's the sound of showing up.
There is no doing here. There isn't a whole lot of talking. There is nobody to impress.
Just get here.

The magic happens when you show up.
